Teaching with SharpScience
SharpScience is a very flexible curriculum, with only an occasional seasonal lesson. A lesson on autumn leaves, for instance, would be best taught in the autumn. The lesson plans include extensive background notes and directions for the teacher so even if you do not have a science background, it is easy to use.
Reading a book, observing, answering questions (inquiry) and describing are skills that everyone has. Without realizing it, these are also basic scientific skills.
Each lesson has several activities to choose from, so you can pick what your student would be most interested in. All the activities use items found around the home or available at craft and hobby stores.
